Crawford Beveridge is responsible for the people and places organization at Sun which includes human resources, workplace resources, corporate security and Sun's flexible workforce program. A member of the Executive Committee, Beveridge also participates in the development of corporate strategy and business development. Previously, Beveridge was chief executive of Scottish Enterprise, the lead economic development organization for Scotland with more than 1,700 employees and an annual operating budget of $800 million. In this role, he oversaw business development, venture capital, skills development, exports, infrastructure development and inward investments.

A skilled high-tech human resource executive, Beveridge served as vice president of corporate resources at Sun Microsystems from 1985 to 1991. Before joining Sun, he held human resources management positions in both Europe and the United States with Hewlett-Packard Company, Digital Equipment Corporation and Analog Devices.

Beveridge holds a B.S. degree in social science from the University of Edinburgh, Scotland, and a M.S. degree in industrial administration from the University of Bradford, England.

Beveridge has received a CBE in the 1995 New Years Honours list. He is a nonexecutive board member of Autodesk, Memec and Scottish Equity Partners, LTD.
