BEIJING--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Jul. 16, 2012--
China Academy of Building Research Technology Co. Ltd. (CABR
Technology), a leading software provider in China’s architecture,
engineering and construction (AEC) industry, has signed a memorandum of
understanding (MoU) with Autodesk,
Inc. (NASDAQ: ADSK), a world leader in 3D
design, engineering and entertainment software. The goal is to
jointly promote the research and application of Building
Information Modeling (BIM) in the AEC fields in China. BIM is an
intelligent, model-based process that provides insight for creating and
managing building and infrastructure projects faster, more economically,
and with less environmental impact. The MoU also covers sharing of
design technology to further promote data interoperability between CABR
Technology and Autodesk's respective software products.

On behalf of their respective parties, Nicolas Mangon, Autodesk Senior
Director of AEC Strategy and Marketing, and Xu Jiefeng, President of
CABR Technology, signed the MoU in Beijing. Attendees at the signing
ceremony also included Vice President Wang Cuikun, Director Yang
Zhiyong, Vice Director Gu Weiping and Chief Engineer Shen Wendu from the
Design Software Division of CABR Technology; and Richard Li, China AEC
Industry Manager for Autodesk, Sunil MK, Senior Manager of Autodesk
Government Sales Development in Asia Pacific, and Zhang Xi, Manager for
Autodesk AEC Sales Development.
CABR Technology is one of China’s top AEC software providers, and its
PKPM software is widely used in China’s structural engineering industry.
Under this relationship with Autodesk, CABR Technology intends to
develop software based on the application programming interface (API) of Autodesk
Revit software to enable data exchange between PKPM design and
analysis software and Autodesk Revit. This can help drive
design-to-analysis workflows, enabling better collaboration between
drafters, designers and engineers.
CABR Technology’s Xu Jiefeng said, “Following the replacement of
traditional drawing boards with computer-aided design software in China,
BIM is the next milestone in the AEC industry’s technological progress.
CABR Technology and our PKPM software will contribute to the continued
advancement of the industry through our cooperation with Autodesk.”
Autodesk’s Nicolas Mangon said, “Global demand for BIM has been growing
rapidly in the fields of architecture, engineering and construction. Our
cooperation with CABR Technology can help better prepare professionals
in China to meet challenges, improve efficiency, reduce cost and enhance
project quality.”
CABR Technology’s Yang Zhiyong said, “Construction software is an
important driving force for the Chinese AEC industry’s technological
progress. PKPM software has helped generations of Chinese engineers
realize their dreams. We look forward to engaging in mutually beneficial
relationships with excellent software enterprises like Autodesk, and
improving construction industry software together.”
Jim Huang, General Manager of Autodesk in the Greater China region,
said, "Autodesk is proud to sign a memorandum of understanding with CABR
Technology. We intend to work together to further advance China’s
architecture, engineering and construction industries. Together,
Autodesk and CABR Technology will continue to promote the adoption of
BIM in China."

About Autodesk BIM Solutions
BIM is an intelligent model–based process that provides insight for
creating and managing building and infrastructure projects faster, more
economically and with less environmental impact. Autodesk BIM solutions
for building and infrastructure lifecycles are based on intelligent
models created with Autodesk Revit software products and AutoCAD Civil
3D software. Helping to expand the benefits of BIM is a powerful set of
complementary solutions for visualizing and simulating projects
virtually, documentation and professional drafting, and data management
and collaboration. Autodesk Building Design Suite 2013, Autodesk
Infrastructure Design Suite 2013 and Autodesk Plant Design Suite 2013
offer comprehensive sets of tools to support BIM workflows in single,
cost-effective packages.
