SAN RAFAEL, Calif., Dec. 10 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Autodesk Inc. (Nasdaq: ADSK) today announced that its Board of Directors has declared a quarterly cash dividend of $0.015 per share on its Common Stock. This cash dividend, which is being paid for the third quarter of fiscal 2005, is payable January 5, 2005 to shareholders of record at the close of business on December 27, 2004. The company previously announced that it will discontinue its quarterly dividend. Dividend payments will cease after the March 2005 payment.

As of October 31, 2004, the Company had $518.0 million in cash, cash equivalents and marketable securities and approximately 226.9 million shares of common stock outstanding. Autodesk reported net income of $74.1 million, or $0.30 per diluted share on a GAAP basis, on net revenues of $300.15 million for the third fiscal quarter ended October 31, 2004.

On November 18, 2004, the company announced a 2-for-1 stock split on its common stock. All share and per share amounts above reflect this stock split which is payable December 20, 2004 to those who were shareholders of record at the close of business on December 6, 2004.
