Honors for Autodesk's Innovative Technology Solutions for Building Industry
Autodesk, Inc. (Nasdaq: ADSK), the world's leading design and digital content creation company, today announced that it was awarded the Cadalyst Magazine Best of Show Award for Autodesk Architectural Studio, its conceptual design and presentation tool; and Autodesk Buzzsaw, its online project collaboration service for the building industry. The two awards were presented this week at the A/E/C Systems show in Anaheim, California.Cadalyst chose both Autodesk products for their innovative use of technology and value add for architects and building project teams. Specifically, Architectural Studio, combined with pen-based hardware technology, replicates traditional hand drawing techniques, which stood out to Cadalyst. The Buzzsaw service was chosen for its use of Internet technology as a vehicle to connect building team members, regardless of their location.
"Claiming two Best of Show awards this year, Autodesk demonstrates its commitment to bringing innovative technology to the market that helps customers share digital design data across the entire building process," said Art Liddle, executive editor of Cadalyst Magazine. "Architectural Studio and Buzzsaw are impressive technology offerings destined to enhance the way designers and building professionals work."
Autodesk Architectural Studio for Digital Design CreationAutodesk Architectural Studio is the conceptual design creation tool for architects and other design professionals. Autodesk Architectural Studio re-creates the traditional design studio with direct-input tools such as pencils and markers that are intuitive and easy to use and brings them into the digital world for enhanced workflow and efficiency. And, Autodesk Architectural Studio's innovative design environment is complemented by its Internet-based Design Site service, an online multimedia communication environment. As a virtual "meeting space," the Design Site service allows architects to collaborate remotely in real-time with other Architectural Studio users such as the internal architectural design team, external subconsultants, or contractors. Together, they can share, explore, critique, and present design concepts within one private, secure site. Complex design problems or later stage construction issues that require immediate, graphical communication can be resolved more quickly by sharing digital sketches or hand-written notes generated during the online meeting.
Autodesk Buzzsaw for Building Development and ManagementAutodesk Buzzsaw is an online project collaboration service used by more than 650 corporations to connect building project team members and helps them communicate by storing and sharing information in one, secure location. This enables owners, developers, architects, and engineers to save time and increase profitability throughout the entire design, construction, and building management process.
Autodesk recently introduced new features to the Buzzsaw service including advanced external reference (XREF) support that ensures all project team members are working from the same set of drawings. In addition to the new features, a local language version was recently introduced in Japan to support its growing international customer base.
