Autodesk was selected from among twelve other nominees as the "TecHome Builder IT Innovator of the Year." The company's software enables customers to realize their ideas by creating, managing and sharing information across the home building industry and other verticals markets.
Autodesk Buzzsaw and Autodesk DWF Composer were also awarded "IT High-Impact Products of the Year" Awards. Currently utilized by six of the nation's top ten homebuilders, including Pulte Homes, Lennar, Centex and Beazer Homes, Autodesk's collaboration solutions enable customers to facilitate and manage the bidding process with subcontractors and external supply chains. Customers have found that they can optimize information coordination and gain control while reducing the time spent on the design and bid management processes.
"Autodesk's mission is to develop technology that enables our customers to realize their ideas to win in their markets, including competitive environments such as home building," said Amar Hanspal, vice president of Autodesk Collaboration Services. "We've worked hard to create the kind of collaboration tools that make it easy for homebuilders and other customers to reduce their costs by seamlessly creating, managing and sharing design information, so recognition from an industry-leading publication, like TecHome Builder is especially gratifying."
About the Products
The Autodesk Buzzsaw project collaboration service allows home builders to more effectively manage and share all of their project information, and enables them keep projects on schedule and within budget. The ability to manage multiple projects and to communicate project information means fewer mistakes and a streamlined chain of communication. Buzzsaw also provides viewing technology and reporting features that allow for a comprehensive overview of entire project portfolios.
Autodesk DWF Composer software enables project team members to digitally review, mark up, and revise 2D and 3D drawings, maps and models without the original creation software. Using DWF Composer in the design review process enables drafters and project managers to distribute project plans electronically rather than by overnight courier or fax. Architects, engineers, contractors and other team members can then view and print AutoCAD DWG and DWF files, as well as measure, redline, and annotate the DWF files to communicate changes electronically. Autodesk is leading the way as the DWF specification becomes increasingly popular for sharing data-rich design files electronically.
