Expanding its commitment to the large Autodesk manufacturing community by connecting users of Autodesk Inventor software to their suppliers, Autodesk's Manufacturing Supplier Content Center enables users to select from millions of 2D and 3D engineering models and place them directly into Autodesk Inventor designs, so engineers around the world can more rapidly realize their ideas.

"Engineers are far more dependent on manufactured content than ever before, and this initiative demonstrates our commitment to meeting the needs of our global customers," said Robert "Buzz" Kross, vice president of Manufacturing Solutions Division at Autodesk. "The Autodesk Manufacturing Supplier Content Center provides easy access to millions of native-format Autodesk Inventor models of the parts our customers use every day. So now, customers can concentrate on designing and innovating new products instead of wasting time and effort modeling parts they don't manufacture."

The Manufacturing Supplier Content Center will enable Autodesk Inventor users to eliminate many of the manual, error-prone, time consuming steps in the product design process. The commercially available components can be easily integrated into the Autodesk Inventor Content Center and Autodesk Inventor designs, providing access to supplier part numbers, bill of material parameters and geometry. The ability for engineers to access this content creates tremendous efficiencies by helping assure that accurate, orderable components are woven into engineers' designs from the beginning, freeing them up to focus on bringing their products to market faster.
