The software award for "Best Content Management Solution" awards the software technology solution or platform that best adds value to content accessed or distributed by the enterprise or the end user including content creation, categorization, workflow, publishing and delivery tools. Autodesk Design Review was recognized in this category based on its ability to streamline the management and sharing of design information at any point in the project lifecycle, which speeds the review process and helps to minimize costs. The application provides extended team members an all-digital way to review, mark up and revise 2D and 3D designs without the original design creation software. Earlier this month, Autodesk Design Review 2008 was launched worldwide and became available to customers as a free* download (http://www.autodesk.com/designreview-download).
The education award for "Best Postsecondary Instruction Solution" recognizes the best technology solution for curriculum and content specifically targeted toward students in college learning environments, including undergraduate and graduate level courses. The Autodesk Student Engineering and Design Community (www.students.autodesk.com) provides students worldwide access to free* software, learning resources, global networking and preparation for careers in design. To date, more than 70,000 students and faculty from 54 countries have joined the free online community that provides professional software tools and learning resources in the fields of manufacturing, infrastructure, building, and media and entertainment.
"We are very proud that SIIA has recognized Autodesk in these important categories," said Carl Bass, president and CEO of Autodesk. "We continue to aspire for excellence in all of our solutions and services, and strive to support the design community with innovative technology and a commitment to educating the next generation of designers."
The Software & Information Industry Association is the principal trade association for the software and digital content industry. SIIA provides global services in government relations, business development, corporate education and intellectual property protection to the leading companies that are setting the pace for the digital age. The CODiE Awards program holds the distinction of being the only peer recognition of its kind in the industry, providing a unique opportunity for companies to earn the praise of their competitors. Now in its twenty-first year, the CODiE Awards remain the standard-bearer for celebrating outstanding achievement and vision in the industry.
