With the iMove(TM) technology, users like fire, police, FBI and other law enforcement officials can get a real visual understanding of a building's layout without entering the facility. "Without detailed information on the building, emergency professionals are often walking in blind, but with iMove technology linked to Autodesk's mapping and floorplan software, a detailed video-record of the building is available," said Roger Thomas, CEO, iMove, Inc. "It provides comprehensive, accurate and true visual records of any space. Having this sort of detailed information of the inside of a building is a lifesaving advantage."
"There is no doubt that using iMove Spherical Video is the fastest and easiest way to collect a complete visual record of all manner of infrastructure," said Chris Bradshaw, vice president of Autodesk's Infrastructure Solutions Division. "This is the most compelling new geo-referenced data type our industry has seen since the introduction of satellite imagery."
For firefighters, iMove combined with Autodesk MapGuide(R) software, an online mapping and design solution, provides on-scene visual information for training rehearsals or during an actual event. Key information such as hazards in the building, equipment locations such as stand pipes, gas and electrical controls, roof access, and escape routes can be quickly examined and incorporated into the response. Police can preview line of sight and ingress egress routes providing advanced tactical situational awareness. Facility managers can provide visual inventories of their buildings to first responders for training and faster emergency response. A demonstration of how iMove works within the Autodesk Emergency Response solution is available at www.autodesk.com/emergency-response.
