At Greenbuild Expo 2006 in Denver, Autodesk announced that it had entered into a strategic relationship with the U.S. Green Building Council (USGBC) to expand the use of technology to increase mainstream adoption of sustainable design and green building. Following this announcement, Autodesk will host a press conference at 12 p.m. in the press conference room to further discuss results of the USGBC relationship and reveal the findings from the 2007 Autodesk/AIA Green Index, an annual survey that measures how American Institute of Architects (AIA) member architects in the United States are practicing sustainable design as well as their opinions about the green building movement.

At Chicago's Field Museum on the evening of Nov. 7, the USGBC and Autodesk will co-host the premiere of the Autodesk-sponsored e2 design season two-documentary series, airing on PBS this fall. Media and invited guests will view an episode titled, "Architecture 2030." which examines how government officials, architects, regulatory agencies and building suppliers can avoid a global warming crisis through policy change and education. The screening will be followed by a panel discussion of industry leaders including Ed Mazria of Architecture 2030, Rick Fedrizzi of the USGBC, Phil Bernstein and moderator Susan Szenasy, editor of Metropolis magazine, who will discuss the future of sustainable design practice.
