BBG-BBGM Moves to Building Information Modeling with the Autodesk AutoCAD Revit Series
SAN RAFAEL, Calif., Feb 18, 2004 /PRNewswire-FirstCall via COMTEX/ -- Autodesk, Inc. (Nasdaq: ADSK), the world's leading design software and digital content company, announced today that Brennan Beer Gorman / Architects and Brennan Beer Gorman Monk / Interiors (BBG-BBGM), a global architecture and interior design firm, is implementing Autodesk's building information modeling approach through use of the Autodesk(R) AutoCAD(R) Revit(R) Series, a single product that combines Revit and AutoCAD software. Building information modeling will provide BBG-BBGM with a competitive advantage by enabling the firm to deliver higher quality design services with increased speed and accuracy. With the AutoCAD Revit Series, BBG-BBGM can transition staff smoothly to building information modeling, benefiting from the ability to maintain AutoCAD-based workflows, as necessary, while implementing Revit software on new projects.

"We've been convinced for quite some time that building information modeling is both the future direction for the industry and the best choice for our practice," said Mark Sheeleigh, AIA, principal, BBG-BBGM. "When Autodesk introduced the AutoCAD Revit Series, we felt confident that we could move forward to this new platform while minimizing the risks that may accompany a change in work process."
Microsol Resources Corporation, an Authorized Autodesk Systems Center in New York City and trusted advisor to BBG-BBGM, worked closely with the firm to evaluate its information technology needs and suggested pursuing the opportunity to implement the AutoCAD Revit Series.
"The AutoCAD Revit Series is providing firms like BBG-BBGM, who have expressed an interest in Revit software, with a clear pathway to building information modeling while optimizing their existing AutoCAD processes," said Emilio Krausz, president of Microsol Resources Corporation.
BBG-BBGM specializes in complex hotel and commercial office projects with large-scale, repetitive floor plans, such as the Hotel Sofitel New York and Chevy Chase Bank headquarters in Betheseda, MD. With the use of the Revit parametric building modeling technology, BBG-BBGM can quickly accommodate design changes that reverberate throughout the plans. The resulting rich database of building information enables BBG-BBGM to deliver high value services to its clients including delivery of a building information model for facility maintenance and planning. With the Autodesk AutoCAD Revit Series, BBG-BBGM is moving to building information modeling at its own pace, with the flexibility of deploying Revit or AutoCAD software as best suits the needs of the project team.
In collaboration with Microsol Resources, the Autodesk Professional Services team is currently delivering software implementation and training services to BBG-BBGM.
