Kodak Subsidiary Creates Powerful New Pipeline for Its Digital Intermediate Projects

(Nasdaq: ADSK) today announced that LaserPacific Media Corp., a wholly owned subsidiary of the Eastman Kodak Company (NYSE: EK), has added Autodesk(R) Stone(R) Shared storage area network (SAN) and three of Autodesk's Discreet(R) Lustre(R) digital color grading systems to its digital motion picture pipeline. The addition of Autodesk solutions enables LaserPacific to provide powerful new digital solutions to the filmmaking community, and bring ideas to reality faster than ever before.

The Lustre system is used to digitally create dramatic looks and consistency across the entire film. It is part of a digital intermediate process that converts film to high-resolution digital files and then back to film, providing greater control over color manipulation and visual effects. Whereas before, only select shots requiring visual effects were digitized, today, many films are being digitized from start to finish -- allowing more creativity.
