Autodesk's 3D Design Software Plays Key Role in Making Transportation Systems
                           Safer and More Efficient

SAN RAFAEL, Calif., June 14 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Autodesk, Inc. (Nasdaq: ADSK) today announced that G&T Conveyor Company, Inc., one of the nation's leading providers of baggage handling systems and airport services, is making the move to the latest release of Autodesk Inventor 11, the world's best selling 3D mechanical design software and best choice for AutoCAD software users deploying 3D. The company worked with Autodesk partner IMAGINiT Technologies, a leading provider of CAD/CAM/CAE solutions to the manufacturing industry, to select the software.

In business since 1987, G&T designs, engineers, manufactures and installs complex baggage handling systems specializing in sortation and In-Line Explosive Detection Systems. The company's client engagements include work for such important transportation hubs as Chicago O'Hare International Airport, San Diego International Airport and the Port of Seattle.

Clients send G&T architectural drawings that illustrate how they'd like a conveyor system to fit into a particular building. It is then up to G&T's mechanical and electrical engineering teams to design and engineer the project from conception through completion, whether it contains customized baggage handling equipment with standalone controls, or fully integrated, complex automated systems monitored from a central control room.

Traditionally, G&T handled these types of projects using Autodesk's award- winning AutoCAD software. Realizing the benefits of 3D, G&T deployed Autodesk Inventor software at their manufacturing facility -- one of the largest and most modern in the United States -- to help them create their precision-built products. Available in different product configurations to provide specific levels of functionality, Autodesk Inventor helps designers realize their ideas and bring better products to market faster.

"Our conveyor systems are very complex," said Daniel Britt, CAD Designer, Mechanical, at G&T. "There are many parts in a typical conveyor line ranging from sheet metal components, pulleys, bearings and drive units. Our Queue Conveyor, for example, has 900 different iterations. With Autodesk Inventor 11's new iAssembly feature, we can have one model with all the differences in iAssembly, versus having 900 different models. This allows us to take our modular product base and create similar assemblies with a minimum amount of effort. That saves us a huge amount of time in the product editing and design phases."

Using Autodesk Inventor products as the safest and easiest for designing in 3D while leveraging its 2D data, G&T is well-positioned to build on its success, growing to meet the ever-increasing demand for quality, reliable and cost-effective baggage handling systems. As a result, their products will continue to play a role in helping to ensure that major portions of our transportation infrastructure are as efficient -- and secure -- as possible.
