New Zealand's Largest Architectural Firm Adopts Autodesk Revit Building
JASMAX Embraces Building Information Modelling for More Efficient Building Design and Documentation
AUTODESK UNIVERSITY, ORLANDO, Fla., Nov. 29 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Autodesk Inc. (Nasdaq: ADSK) today announced that JASMAX, New Zealand's largest architectural firm, has adopted Autodesk Revit Building software, Autodesk's solution built specifically for building information modelling (BIM). JASMAX will make a substantial financial investment to standardize on Revit Building throughout the company to more efficiently create, manage and share building designs and documentation. By March 2006, JASMAX architects will be creating all new projects using Revit Building.

"The decision to adopt Autodesk Revit Building and move to building information modelling was a strategic business decision for our firm. It will enable us to maintain our leading position in the market and stay ahead of our increasingly global competition," said Greg Boyden, Managing Director, JASMAX. "Revit Building has become infectious across our firm because it enables our team to take ideas and turn them into reality."
JASMAX selected Autodesk Revit Building as their building information modelling solution after a thorough evaluation of competing products due to Revit Building's unique ability to mirror the real world of architecture by letting architects and designers work on buildings and spaces holistically, rather than in terms of separate floor plans, sections and elevations. All designs and documentation are coordinated, consistent and complete, regardless of the number of changes made throughout the design process. Through Revit Building's parametric change technology, any change is automatically coordinated throughout a project, including model views, drawing sheets, schedules, sections, plans and renderings -- making the design iteration and revision process significantly more streamlined
"Moving to building information modeling demonstrates a commitment to innovation and staying competitive," said Jay Bhatt, vice president, Autodesk Building Solutions Division. "With Revit Building, JASMAX architects and designers can create an internally consistent, coordinated and computable digital representation of the building and then easily explore multiple design options within that model -- enabling them to compete for and win new projects."
In addition to speeding the production of building designs and documentation, JASMAX will also benefit from increased coordination with Mechanical, Electrical, Plumbing (MEP) and structural engineers using other Autodesk products including Autodesk Revit Structure and Autodesk Building Systems software. Revit Building also enables efficient capital management on projects. Since Revit Building stores building data in a database, architects can more easily schedule the data and building material quantities. This provides designers the ability to keep track of virtually all the micro aspects of the building process, generating a superior finished product and more comprehensive design process.
