Mar 15, 2005
SOFiCAD 16.4 Supports Civil and Structural Engineers Throughout the World

NUREMBERG, Germany, March 15, 2005 /PRNewswire-FirstCall via COMTEX/ -- SOFiSTiK AG, today announced support for AutoCAD(R) 2006 next generation design software from Autodesk, Inc. (Nasdaq: ADSK), the world's leading software and services company for the building, manufacturing, infrastructure, digital media and wireless data services fields. AutoCAD 2006 software allows users to create, manage and share design information faster, to compete and win.

SOFiSTiK, an Autodesk authorized developer, offers specialized modules for construction and reinforcement drawings to be used in bridge, tunnel and building design. The company's software also supports complex reinforcement technologies like BAMTEC(R). SOFiSTiK's latest release, SOFiCAD 16.4, adds a complete set of special objects and commands that enable engineers to analyze, design and draft structures of all types. Taking advantage of new features in AutoCAD 2006, such as the "Heads-Up Design" and tool palette interface, SOFiCAD automates a host of mundane tasks, enabling engineers to concentrate on technical detail and finite element analysis. SOFiCAD 16.4 is more flexible than ever before, especially in the support of international standards and codes.

"SOFiSTiK software provides the precision that civil engineers need when planning highly visible, multi-stage projects," said John Sanders, vice president of Autodesk's Platform Technology Group. "The combined AutoCAD/SOFiCAD solution can save valuable time and materials."

"With AutoCAD 2006, Autodesk has made a globally-recognized platform even better," said Thomas Fink, CEO of SOFiSTiK AG. "I am convinced that the new Heads-Up Design interface alone justifies an upgrade to AutoCAD 2006. Overlaid with our special know-how in structural engineering and reinforcement technology, AutoCAD and SOFiCAD offer an unbeatable combination to structural engineers worldwide."
