Inventor for Improving Lives, Reducing Workload, and
                    Simplifying Jobs of its Members

Autodesk, Inc. (Nasdaq:ADSK), the world's leading design software and digital content company, today announced that Autodesk Inventor(R) 6 software has won the "2003 Best of the Best CAD Software Award" from the Silicon Valley AutoCAD(R) Power Users (SVAPU) group -- marking the second time Autodesk Inventor software has won the award. According to the SVAPU, it recognizes products that have made "our lives better, our workload lighter, and our jobs easier."

"With more than 200 new features including powerful new surfacing capabilities, it was no contest...Autodesk Inventor 6 simply won hands-down. As part of the Autodesk Inventor Series, Autodesk Inventor is bundled with Autodesk(R) Mechanical Desktop(R) and AutoCAD applications which makes it a real value for any user," said Elise Moss, president of SVAPU.

With a membership of more than 3,000 AutoCAD users throughout the United States, SVAPU (www.power.org) is the largest local user group in the world. The SVAPU board of directors votes on the recipients for the annual award based on presentations seen in 2002 of Autodesk and non-Autodesk products, audience member impressions, and personal experience with the products.

"There is no better compliment than to receive recognition from the exact group of people we hope will use Autodesk Inventor to transition to 3D," said Robert Kross, vice president of the Manufacturing Division at Autodesk. "We are proud of the positive impact Autodesk Inventor software has on the lives of our customers."
