McNamara/Lamb Technicon, a leading engineering and manufacturing supplier to the automotive industry, has standardized on Autodesk Inventor software in order to meet the demanding schedule of their latest project, building the overall design for the assembly line machinery that will be used to produce the Hummer H2 sport utility vehicle. Autodesk Inventor was chosen primarily for its ease of use, large assembly performance and adaptive technology, as well as for its superior visualization and collaboration tools.

McNamara and their partners could see how every part of a machine would behave, eliminating the need for a prototype and saving valuable time and money. In addition, J.S. McNamara's customer could track their progress by reviewing 3D models before any assembly machinery was built. This error proofing that could be done upfront represented a 60 percent timesavings on the floor.

Working in partnership, Autodesk and Autodesk Authorized Systems Center INCAT (www.incat.com) ensured that Autodesk Inventor software handled the technical challenges presented by J.S. McNamara.
